ROMEOVILLE, Illinois - In a field of some of the best D2 teams, the #12 Walsh Cavaliers women's cross country team finished third as a team at the Lewis Conference Crossover on Saturday (Oct. 12).
With conditions that mimicked a November like day, the Cavaliers had five runners finished within the top 45 in the 6k race.
Alexa Leppelmeier was 27th overall as she ran a 23:21.9 for the team's top finish. Claire Robertson came through the finish chute five seconds later in 32nd place. Freshman Bridget Hahn ran a 23:30.2 time as a 37th place finish. Bre Bakan (23:36.4) and Andra Lehotay (23:37) came across the line together in 42nd and 43rd place, respectively.
The event featured runners from 36 schools, including nine of the latest Top 25 in the country.
Walsh will begin prep for the Great Midwest Cross Country Championships in two weeks at the Butler Campus at Laurel School, hosted by Ursuline College.
