Women No. 12, Men No. 18 In New National Cross Country Polls

(NEW ORLEANS) – There was a little movement involved for both of Walsh's cross country teams in this week's Division II National Coaches' Poll as released by the USTFCCCA. The women's team dropped one spot, but remains highly ranked at No. 12. The men's team climbed one spot to No. 18 for its highest ranking of the season.

In the regional rankings released yesterday, both of the Cavaliers' teams remained the same with the women ranked No. 3 and the men at No. 4.

Adams State tops both men's and women's national polls after receiving all first place votes once again. Western State is No. 2 in the women's poll while Colorado School of Mines is second in the men's. Grand Valley State, led by former Cavalier Sarah Berger, is No. 3 in both polls and tops the regional polls as well.

The Cavaliers are the highest-ranked team in the G-MAC on the men's side, while the women are two spots below Hillsdale in the national poll.

Walsh will compete next in the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Akron this Saturday at Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton, Ohio.

The women's championship 6K will start things off at 2 p.m. with the men's championship to follow at 2:45. A women's open 6K will start at 3:30 with a men's open 8K completing the meet at 4:15.
