  • Bronikowski Earns All-GLIAC Honors

    The 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Volleyball postseason awards have been announced after voting conducted by the league's coaches. Walsh’s Kaitlyn Bronikowski has been selected to the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Team as the Cavaliers’ defensive specialist this season.

    Walsh Volleyball Head Coach Kassie Kadera has announced the signing of a trio of hitters to the Class of 2016. Two of those players, Justine Coffman and Lauren Loucks, come from Ohio while Olivia Hartman comes in from Indiana.
  • Tiffin Trips Up Cavs In Season Finale

    Walsh dropped another hard-fought contest to hosting Tiffin by a score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to end the season. The Cavaliers (10-20, 3-15) forced the Dragons (11-18, 6-12) to extra points in a 27-25 before Walsh turned around to take the second set 25-23. The Dragons scored 25-12 and 25-17 wins in the third and fourth to take the match.
  • ODU Edges Cavs In Sweep
    November 13, 2015
    In the penultimate match of the season, Walsh dropped a 3-0 contest to hosting Ohio Dominican at Alumni Hall on Friday evening. The Cavaliers (10-19, 3-14) didn’t go down easy as they forced the Panthers (16-13, 9-8) into extra points to win the first set 29-27. ODU followed with a narrow 25-23 win in the second before a 25-15 win to close out the match.
  • Cavs Fall on Senior Day To Hillsdale

    Walsh couldn’t pull off the upset on Senior Day as the Cavaliers fought hard but lost in three sets to visiting Hillsdale Saturday afternoon. The Cavs (10-18, 3-13) concluded the home portion of the schedule against the Chargers (20-6, 12-4) who won in straight sets 25-23, 25-12, 25-21.
  • Cavs Get Revenge On Malone In 3-1 Win
    November 03, 2015
    Walsh avenged an earlier season loss to its rival Malone as it returned the favor with a 3-1 win at Osborne Hall Tuesday evening. In doing so, it provided the Cavaliers their 10th win of the season.
  • Walsh Sweep The Storm In Painesville

    Walsh got back into the win column with a shutout of hosting Lake Erie at the Osborne Center on Halloween. The Cavaliers (9-16, 2-11) defense improved as the match went on as they took the three games by scores of 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18 over the Storm (6-17, 1-12).
  • Volleyball Takes Opening Game But Falls To Eagles 3-1

    Walsh came out on fire with a first set win, but couldn’t keep the momentum going as it fell in four sets to hosting Ashland. The Cavaliers (8-16, 1-11) won took the first set 25-17, but the Eagles (17-6, 10-2) answered with a 25-17 win in game two, a 25-11 win in the third, and closed the match with a 25-16 win in the fourth set.
  • AB No Match For Walsh In Mountain State Sweep

    It was a quick trip to the Mountain State for the Walsh volleyball team as it swept hosting Alderson Broaddus in a non-conference affair at Rex Pyles Arena Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers (8-15) took the three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-22 against the Battlers (9-13).
  • Walsh Wins First Set, But Falls 3-1 To Northwood

    With a win in set one, Walsh appeared poised for an upset of Northwood Saturday afternoon, but the visitors pulled out the next three games for a 3-1 victory. The Cavaliers took an exciting first set in extra points 27-25, but the Timberwolves answered with the next three by scores of 25-16, 25-12, and 25-20.
  • Walsh Bombards Lakers in Sweep

    Walsh secured its first win at home in dominant fashion with a 3-0 sweep of visiting Lake Superior State Friday evening. The Cavaliers (7-14, 1-9) and Lakers (0-17, 0-10) played a close first set won by Walsh 25-22 before more than doubling-up the visitors by scores of 25-12 and 25-11 for the victory.
  • Cavs Upend Illinois-Springfield In Another Five-Set Finish

    For the second time in as many days, Walsh won a five-set match against a GLVC team in the eighth annual Mizuno Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover. This time the Cavaliers (6-13) defeated the GLVC’s No. 13 seed Illinois-Springfield (5-16) by scores of 25-20, 27-29, 15-25, 25-19, 16-14.
  • Cavs Snap Skid In Thrilling Come-From-Behind Win

    Walsh broke a nine-match losing streak and did so in thrilling fashion as it won a five-set match against St. Joseph’s College to open up the Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover. The Cavaliers (5-13) needed extra points in all three games they won against the Pumas (5-12). The back-and-forth match was scored 22-25, 29-27, 20-25, 26-24, 18-16 in favor of the Cavs.
  • Cavaliers Head To Chicago For Midwest Crossover

    Walsh is scheduled to play No. 17 St. Joseph’s in its opening match on Friday at 3:30 p.m. The Cavaliers will follow up with matches against No. 13 Illinois-Springfield at 10 a.m. and No. 12 Quincy at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

    The Walsh volleyball team struggled in its first game in the Upper Peninsula as Michigan Tech swept the Cavaliers 3-0 at SDC Wood Gym Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers (4-12, 0-8) improved set by set against the Huskies (13-4, 5-3), but the hosts won 25-15, 25-19, 25-22.

    The Walsh volleyball team couldn’t snag its first conference win as it fell to Saginaw Valley in three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-19. The Cavaliers are now 4-10 on the season and 0-6 in the conference. The Cardinals improved to 12-2 overall and 4-2 in the GLIAC.
  • Walsh Starts Fast But Falls To Malone 3-1

    Walsh came out on fire against rival Malone, but eventually fell to its southern neighbor in four sets at Alumni Arena Tuesday evening. The Cavalier (4-9, 0-5) picked up the first set 25-15, but the Pioneers (5-10, 1-4) won the next three 25-19, 25-23, 25-23.
  • Walsh Downed By No. 21 Grand Valley

    Walsh fell in three sets to its second ranked opponent in as many days as No. 21 Grand Valley won by scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-21 Saturday afternoon at Alumni Arena. The Cavaliers (4-8, 0-4) remain in search of their first conference win while the Lakers (8-4, 4-0) have yet to lose in the GLIAC.
  • No. 2 Ferris State Bites Walsh In Three

    Walsh squared off against the No. 2-ranked team in the nation in Ferris State and the Bulldogs were as good as advertised as the visitors won 25-9, 25-15, 25-23 Friday evening. The Cavaliers (4-7, 0-3) grew stronger as the match went on, but they were unable to avoid the sweep by the Bulldogs (11-0, 3-0).
  • Volleyball Swept By ODU

    Ohio Dominican used a dominant first set and rode momentum to a 3-0 sweep of Walsh by scores of 25-9, 25-22, and 25-16 Saturday afternoon at Alumni Arena. The Cavaliers drop to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in GLIAC play after the opening weekend. The Panthers improved to 7-4 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
  • Tiffin Tops Walsh In Home and Conference Opener

    A slow third set doomed Walsh in an otherwise competitive match with Tiffin in the conference openers for both teams. The Cavaliers (4-5, 0-1) ultimately fell to the Dragons (3-3, 1-0) by scores of 27-25, 22-25, 25-15, and 25-21 Friday evening in Alumni Arena. It was the conference opener for both teams.
  • Cavs Even Record With Five-Set Win At Urusline

    When Head Coach Kassie Kadera was discussing two five-set losses yesterday, she spoke confidently that Walsh would win the next five-set match it played in. She delivered on that thought in tonight’s match at Ursuline College.

    After defeating St. Joseph (IN) in three sets to reach the .500 mark (3-3) for the first time since 2013, the Cavs were bested by Urbana University in five sets to fall to 3-4 in their final game at the Urbana Invitational.
