Walsh (2-19, 2-11) and Malone (11-12, 8-5) meet for the 88th time when the crosstown rivals battle in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest at 7 pm at Alumni Arena. This is the second meeting season between the rivals. Malone won in four sets (19-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-17) at Osborne Hall on September 23. Walsh leads the all-time series 50-26-1.
Walsh is coming off their first sweep of the season, as they bested Lake Erie College 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-20) on Saturday. Kelsey Snider recorded 13 kills and a .444 hitting percentage. Gina Kramer added seven kills and Kelly Miller six. Cavs' setter Haley Howell dished out 35 assists.
Kramer leads the Cavs in kills per set (2.66), with Snider next at 2.54. Miller is tops with a .204 hitting percentage. Howell is handing out 8.61 assists and libero Kaitlin Bronikowski is averaging 4.97 digs (3rd/GLIAC).
Malone has won eight of their last nine GLIAC matches and defeated Lake Erie and Ashland this past weekend.
Walsh is then on the road for the weekend, playing at South Division leading University of Findlay (15-6, 10-3) on Friday (7pm) and at Hillsdale College (9-11, 7-6) on Saturday (2pm).
