Panthers Too Much For Cavs

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) Walsh fell to 0-6 overall and to 0-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after being swept by Oho Dominican University (3-4, 2-0)  by set scores of 9-25, 22-25 and 14-25. The Cavs look for their first win of the season when they travel to Ferris State University next Friday (7 pm) and to Grand Valley State on Saturday (4 pm) in a pair of GLIAC matches.

ODU scored the first five points of the match, and rolled to a 25-9 win in the first set. Walsh regrouped and played much better in the second set, holding early leads of 6-3 and their last lead at 12-9. ODU rallied to tie the game at 13-all and took the lead for good at 14-13. Walsh stayed close, and trailed 22-21 and 24-22, but would get no closer.

Walsh held their only lead at 1-0 in the third set. The Cavs trailed 6-5 when ODU went on a 8-2 run to take control the set and win the match.

Kelsey Snider led Walsh with nine kills and nine digs. Liza Pflugradt added nine kills, and Haley Howell handed out 21 assists. Katilin Bronikowski had 21 digs.
