(TIFFIN, Ohio) Walsh (0-5-, 0-1) dropped its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener in four sets at Tiffin University (3-1, 1-0) tonight by scores of 19-25, 12-25, 25-18, and 16-25. The Cavs look to get into the win column at Ohio Dominican University in a GLIAC contest at 2 pm tomorrow.
Tiffin jumped to a 9-2 lead in taking the first set 25-19. The second set was all Tiffin, as the Dragons roared to a 25-12 win. Walsh showed life in the third set, jumping to leads of 5-1 and 9-3 in winning 25-18. Gina Kramer paced the Cavs with six kills. Tiffin led from start-to-finish in the fourth set. They enjoyed their largest lead at 16-8. Walsh would close to 21-15, but would get no closer.
Gina Kramer paced the attack with 17 kills. Kelsey Snider added nine kills and eight digs. Liza Pflugradt had nine kills and three block assists. Haley Howell handed out 35 assists and Kaitlin Bronikowski led the defensive effort with 21 digs, with Dena Solly adding 19.
