Edinboro, Concord Both Trip Cavs in Four; Howell Named to All-Tourney Team

(CLARION, Pa.) Walsh (0-4) fell in four sets to both Edinboro University (2-0) and Concord University (1-3) in the their matches at the Tony Banner Memorial Invitational at Clarion University.

The Scots bested the Cavs by the scores of 25-22, 18-25, 17-25 and 18-25. Liza Pflugradt paced Walsh with 11 kills. Kelsey Snider added seven kills and 13 digs. Haley Howell dished out 26 assists and Kaitlin Bronikowski registered a match-high 19 digs.

After dropping the first two sets 15-25, 17-25 to Concord, Walsh rallied to post a 26-24 win in the third set. Concord then won the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set. Snider paced the Cavs with 15 kills and 10 digs. Gina Kramer added 13 kills. Howell handed a match-high 41 assissts. Bronikowski had 16 digs, and Devin Hummel added 11.

Haley Howell was selected to the all-tournament team.

The Cavs stay on the road and open the GLIAC season next Friday night at 7 pm against Tiffin University.
