Cavs Fall 3-0 to Gannon, and Clarion

(CLARION, Pa) Walsh (0-2) fell 3-0 to both Gannon University (1-0) and Clarion University (3-0) at the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament being hosted by Clarion University. The Cavs meet Edinboro University at 11 am tomorrow, and then close tourney play at 5 pm vs. Concord.

Walsh fell 7-25, 12-25 and 14-25 to Gannon in the season opener for both teams. Freshman Gina Kramer led Walsh with five kills. Veteran Kelsey Snider and transfer Liza Pflugradt each added four. Haley Howell handed out 18 assists and Kaitlin Bronikowski had 12 digs.

The Cavs played much better in their evening match against host, and unbeaten Clarion but were swept by the scores of 17-25, 12-25, 19-25. Snider paced Walsh with nine kills. Kramer and Katy Frease each had six kills. Howell handed 27 assists and Bronikowski led with 12 digs and Emilee Muzechuk had eight.
