(CALIFORNIA, Pa.) – It was a busy weekend for the Walsh Track & Field teams as they sent split squads to California's Early Bird Invitational and Muskingum's Amy Adams Invitational. Between both meets, there were plenty of placers in a variety of events.
On the women's side, Kaitlyn Barber picked up where she left off as she won the pole vault with a height of 3.75 meters. Alexandra Rodgers also had a first place finish as she won the long jump with a distance of 4.82 meters.
Bre Bakan was second in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:47.38. Alexa Leppelmeier was third in the same event with a time of 4:48.22.
Maggie Kroll finished second in the 5,000 meter run at 17:51.99. Fellow Cavaliers Claire Robertson, Chelsea Johnson, and Kayla Balfour finished third through fifth with times of 17:53.25, 17:59.24, and 18:26.18, respectively.
Walsh was second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:15.49. Jetaiya Smith, Alexanda Rodgers, Gracey Radwany, and Clarise Culhane comprised of the team.
Smith was third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:22.00. Rachael Kotoch was fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.16. Katherine Schierloh finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters. Christine Fiegl was sixth with the same height, but needed more attempts.
At Muskingum, Morrisa Mallory was second in the shot put with a throw of 11.87 meters. Paige Groves was fourth with a throw of 11.42 meters. Mallory was also fourth in the discus with a throw of 34.44 meters. Payton Breehl was fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.62 meters.
