(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Two late goals doomed Walsh as it fell 2-0 to Cedarville in G-MAC action at Milazzo Field on a warm fall afternoon Saturday. The Cavaliers (10-3, 7-3) need just one more point to clinch a conference tournament bid, while the Yellow Jackets (9-5-1, 7-3-1) secured one with the three points given by the victory.
The first goal came in the 73rd minute when Hannah Atkinson found the back of the net on a pass from Bex Velloney. Less than eight minutes later, Grace Miorelli followed to make the game 2-0.
Walsh was outshot by the visitors 11-9 in the game. Mickey McClanahan did well to keep the Cavs in the game with six saves on the day.
The Cavs will return to action on Tuesday when they remake up a postponed game against Malone. Walsh was up 1-0 on the Pioneers in the earlier scheduled contest, but lightning forced the game to be a no-contest. Kickoff will take place from St. Thomas Aquinas High School at 7 p.m.
