Women's Soccer Shuts Out Alderson Broaddus 4-0

(PHILIPPI, W.Va.) – Walsh remained unbeaten and unscored upon after a 4-0 victory over Alderson Broaddus in G-MAC action on Saturday evening in the Mountain State. The Cavaliers (5-0, 2-0) have now outscored their opponents 19-0 after the win over the Battlers (0-3-2, 0-1-2).

Olivia Peters got the offense rolling early with a goal just 2:44 into the game on assists from Hannah Bowman and Alisha Himes. It wasn't long until the Cavs struck again as Ashley Dobbins scored unassisted in the 15th minute. Peters added her second goal of the day and fourth of the season in the 26th minute for a 3-0 lead.

Walsh held that lead through halftime until the 69th minute when Natalie Dignan scored on an assist from Brianna Sanborn to set the final score.

Mickey McClanahan picked up the victory in goal. She made three saves on the evening in nearly 82 minutes of action before Maura Hickey relieved her in goal.

Shots were nearly balanced with Walsh getting the upper-hand of a 14-11 split. Walsh also had a 6-4 advantage on corner kicks.

The Cavaliers now return home for a pair of games next week as they host Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan. The Trojans will visit Milazzo Field first as they take on the Maroon and Gold on Thursday at 5 p.m.
