(TIFFIN, Ohio) – The Walsh women's lacrosse team fell to Tiffin by a score of 16-7 in GLIAC action at Frost Kalnow Field Thursday evening. The Cavaliers fell to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The Dragons improved to 3-4 overall and evened up to 1-1 in the GLIAC.
Both teams went back and forth to start the game as they exchanged goals twice. Sam Paulson's scored 5:32 into the game tied it at 1-1 on an assist from Lane Brunkala, who later scored on a free position shot to tie the game at 2-2 close to seven minutes later.
After that, Tiffin took control of the game by virtue of a 6-1 run to close out the half and took an 8-3 lead into the halftime break. Brunkala scored on another free-position shot to cut the deficit to four near the beginning of the second half, but the Dragons responded with four consecutive goals.
Brunkala finished the game with three goals and an assist to lead the Cavs. Aly Jajack added two goals.
Defensively Mikaela Faus and Sam Paulson registered three ground balls each. Faus picked up 14 saves on 40 shots faced as she went the distance between the pipes.
Walsh will close out its three-game road trip against Findlay on Saturday. First draw is slated for 12 p.m.
