(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The Walsh women's basketball team returns to conference action as it hosts Wayne State Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. The Cavaliers (7-6, 3-3) enter into their second game of a four-game homestand. As opposed to last season, it will be their only matchup with the Warriors (5-7, 2-3) in the regular season this year.
The Cavs look to tie up the series after dropping both contests with the Detroit-based school as both were members of the South Division last season. The series between the two teams started in the 2012-13 season when Walsh joined the GLIAC.
Brooklyn Wooten leads the Cavaliers in multiple categories. She averages 13.3 points and 4.3 assists per game. She also tops the team in free-throw percentage as she has made 86.4 percent (38-44) of her opportunities from the free throw line. Her assists rank sixth in the GLIAC and first in conference-only games.
The Warriors are paced by Nastassja Chambers who tops the team with 14.6 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.4 steals per game with a field goal percentage of 53.3 percent (64-120).
Wayne State is recently coming off of a 77-59 win at Cedarville.
