(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The Cavaliers fell to Ferris St. 60-51 Thursday evening in their GLIAC home opener. Walsh moved back to 1-2 in conference play and 5-4 overall on the season.
The two teams battled close all game long but Walsh never regained a lead after the first quarter. The Cavs fell behind in the first half 29-19.
The Cavs rallied back and tied the game at 44 a piece with just over five minutes to play in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs then went on a 16-7 run to close out the game.
Ferris State shot over 50 percent to fuel the Bulldogs win. They were led by Rachel McInerney's 18 points and nine rebounds. Leah Humes assisted with 15 points off the bench.
The Cavs are home again Saturday afternoon as they take on Grand Valley State at 1 p.m.
