(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh and Malone will tangle for the first time tomorrow afternoon in a rare non-conference affair at Osborn Hall. It will be the 77th edition of the rivalry game in which the Cavaliers lead the all-time series 41-35 with wins in the last three meetings.
Both contests this season are non-conference contests as Malone jumped to the G-MAC for the 2015-16 season. Walsh, along with four other GLIAC schools, will make its way to the G-MAC for the 2016-17 season. Malone will visit Alumni Arena for the back end of the home-and-home dates on New Year's Eve.
The Maroon and Gold picked up its first win on Wednesday with an 88-77 victory over Fairmont State of the Mountain East Conference. The Cavaliers jumped out to an 11-0 lead to start the game and never trailed during the contest.
Jalynn Graham exploded for a career-high 28 points and shot 10-of-13 from the floor. That included 4-of-6 from behind the arch. Alex Hochstedler added 19 with a big chunk of that scored from the line as she made 12-of-15.
Malone is led by Rachel Goddard who scored 17 points in the Pioneers' lone contest of the season so far, a 70-63 defeat at Lake Erie. Walsh enters the contest at 1-2.
Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
