ROMEOVILLE, Illinois - The #17 Walsh Cavaliers men's cross country team competed within the stacked Lewis Conference Crossover at Lewis University on Saturday (Oct. 12).
Walsh finished ninth out of 36 teams in the largest Division II meet this season. On a chilly, windy and wet day, Walsh placed four runners in the top 100 and all five scorers within the top 110 in the 8k race.
Drew Roberts paced the Cavaliers for the third straight race, placing 17th with a 25:48.1 time. Noah Murray finished 12 seconds behind Roberts in 29th place. In 64th place, Jacob Caniford was the third scored spot as he crossed the line in 26:27.9. Five spots back, Beau Boyden was 69th as the sophomore clocked in at 26:30.9. Ed Walsh rounded out the Cavaliers' top five in 109th place, running a 26:53.7 time.
The event featured runners from 38 schools, including 11 of the latest Top 25 in the country.
Walsh will begin prep for the Great Midwest Cross Country Championships in two weeks at the Butler Campus at Laurel School, hosted by Ursuline College.
