  • Men's XC Team GPA 21st In Nation, Four Named Academic Award Winners

    Both the men’s and women’s teams for Walsh cross country have been named 2016 NCAA Division II Team Academic Award winners as named by the USTFCCCA today. It’s the third consecutive year both men’s and women’s programs have achieved the honor.
  • Mizicko Named Coach of the Year

    Rob Mizicko was named the Coach of the Year for Division II/NAIA for men’s cross country by the All-Ohio Coaches Association. Mizicko is in his fifth year as the men and women’s cross country and track & field coach at Walsh.
  • Hadley Earns All-Region Honors, Cavs Seventh In Region

    The end of the season came today as Walsh raced in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships hosted by Southern Indiana. The Cavaliers were hoping to be one of the five teams to punch their ticket to the national championships in two weeks, but finished seventh out of 31 teams.
  • Men's XC Runs For A Spot In Nationals at Regionals

    In the most important meet of the season, Walsh’s men’s cross country heads to Evansville, Ind., with a spot in the national championships on the line. The 10K race is hosted by the University of Southern Indiana and the Evansville Sports Corporation at the Angel Mounds.
  • Men's XC Fourth at GLIACs, Hadley First Team All-Conference

    Mark Hadley finished fifth individually to lead Walsh to a fourth place finish in the GLIAC Championships on Saturday at Ferris State. As a result, Hadley was named an All-GLIAC First Team selection with his time of 25:05.6 in the 8,000 meter race.
  • Walsh Storms By Competition at Lake Erie Invite

    Another win was chalked up on the season for No. 21 Walsh as it won the Lake Erie Invitational at the Painesville Country Club Saturday morning. The Cavaliers won their third meet of the season with a score of 39, 20 points better than runner-up Ashland.
  • Men's XC Ranked Once Again in Top 25

    After last week’s impressive performance at the All-Ohio Championships, the men’s cross country team is back in the top 25 and moved up a spot in the regional rankings. The Cavaliers jumped up to No. 21 nationally and are now fifth in the Midwest region as announced by the USTFCCCA this week.
  • Men's XC Wins All-Ohio Championship at Cedarville
    September 30, 2016
    All five of Walsh’s runners finished in the top 15 to give the Cavaliers the All-Ohio Championship for Division II and NAIA schools on a rainy Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers finished with a score of 44 to edge out Ashland, which scored 76, for the win.
  • Hadley, Njerakey lead Cavs to Runner-Up Finish In National Catholic Meet

    Mark Hadley and Naimbai Njerakey placed in the top six to help Walsh to a runner-up finish in the National Catholic Meet hosted by the University of Notre Dame on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers finished with 68 points and were barely edged by Bellarmine for the championship.

  • Hadley, Njerakey Finish Top Two In Ric Sayre Invitational

    Walsh started their season off strong winning their Ric Sayre Invitation on Friday evening. Mark Hadley cruised to first place with a time of 25:02.37 while Naimbai Njerakey came in a close second with 25:24.97.
  • Men's XC Debuts at No. 25 in Nation, No. 6 in Region

    The Walsh cross country season is set to get underway this Friday as the Cavs host the annual Ric Sayre Invitational. Hopes are high this season for the men’s team after it finished last season ranked No. 23 and went to the national championships, a first for any Walsh team.
