  • Men's Cross Country, Fab Five Earn All-Academic Honors

    The Walsh men’s cross country team has once again been named an NCAA Division II All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition to that, Naimbai Njerakey, Ben Lehotay, Jacob Kernell, Justin Groubert, and Dan Siebenaller were named All-Academic Individuals.

    Walsh wrapped up its season in impressive fashion with a 23rd place finish in the national championships in Joplin, Missouri.
  • Men's Cross Country Ready For National Stage

    Walsh is ranked No. 25 in the nation and heading to a national championship meet for the first time in 18 years. It’s the first time a Cavaliers team has advanced to a national championship meet or tournament since becoming an NCAA Division II member.

  • Men's Cross Country Cracks Top 25 For First Time

    After an impressive performance in the Midwest Regional Championships, the Walsh men’s cross country team is ranked in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II National Coaches’ Poll. The Cavaliers cracked the list at No. 25 and tied with MSU Moorhead for the final spot.
  • Cavs Punch Ticket To Nationals With Fifth Place Regional Finish

    Walsh’s men’s cross country team became the first Cavaliers team to punch a ticket to an NCAA national championship with a fifth place finish at the Midwest Regional Championships Saturday. The Cavaliers finished with a score of 212 and narrowly edged Bellarmine and Saginaw Valley which both finished with a score of 213.
  • Cavs 6th at GLIACs, Njerakey Earns All-Conference Honors

    The Walsh men’s cross country team finished sixth in the GLIAC Championships held at Kensington Metropark on Saturday. While the Cavaliers’ chance at moving up in the regional ranking took a hit, they did have a runner earn All-GLIAC honors for the second time in program history as Naimbai Njerakey finished 17th individually.
  • Walsh Ready For GLIAC Cross Country Championships

    It’s been an exciting season so far for the Walsh men’s cross country team and it looks to make an even bigger splash at the GLIAC Cross Country Championships this weekend. The races will take place this Saturday at Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan. The women’s 6k event will start at 11 a.m. with the men’s 8k race to follow at 11:45.
  • Men's XC Reserves Impress at Wilmington

    Despite resting the top 10 runners in preparation for next weekend’s GLIAC Championships, Walsh used its reserve team at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic and finished 13th in a field of 36 teams. The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 333 to finish ahead of host Wittenberg which had a score of 377.
  • Men's XC Dominates at Slippery Rock

    It was another impressive day for the Walsh men’s cross country team as it cruised by the rest of the competition at the Mack Cooper Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers easily finished first of 10 complete teams with a team score of 24. Second place Slippery Rock finished with a score of 58.
  • Cavs Climb Up To No. 6 in Midwest Region

    The Walsh men’s cross country team made a big jump in the USTFCCCA Division II regional rankings as it jumped up to No. 6. The Cavaliers debuted at No. 10 a couple of weeks ago and rose four spots after they finished ninth of 47 overall teams and second out of 16 Division II/NAIA schools in the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville over the weekend.

    The Walsh men’s track team had an impressive showing at the annual All-Ohio Meet as the Cavaliers finished ninth out of a 47-team field. The Cavaliers did even better in the Division II/NAIA category as they were second out of 16 teams
  • Men's XC Earns First Regional Ranking

    For the first time in program history, the Walsh men’s cross country team is ranked in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional poll at No. 10. The rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams’ strength with current season results in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
  • Men's XC Finishes Third In Big National Catholic Meet Field

    Walsh put in a fine results at that National Catholic Meet hosted by Notre Dame with a third place finish out of 23 non-Division I teams Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers finished with 79 points and were barely bested by Bellarmine for second with 76 points.

    Naimbai Njerakey (Jr., N'Djamena, Chad, Africa/Wheaton, (Md.)) has been named the GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week after an impressive performance in the Annual Ric Sayre Invitational this past weekend.
  • Cavs Cruise To First Place In Ric Sayre Invite

    It was a strong start to the season for the Walsh men’s cross country team as it beat out Mt. Union in the annual Ric Sayre Invitational Saturday morning. The Cavaliers defeated the Purple Raiders with three of the top four runners. All five scorers were in the top eight.
  • Men's XC Host Ric Sayre Invite On Saturday
    September 02, 2015
    Once again, the Walsh cross country teams will open the season as hosts of the annual Ric Sayre Invitational on Saturday morning. The action is set to start with the women’s 5K race at 10 a.m. followed by the men’s 8K race at 10:30.
