(KENT, Ohio) – Marcus Myers highlighted another successful meet for the Walsh men's track & field team as the Cavaliers made the short trip north for the Kent State Tune-Up. In total, 12 Cavaliers helped Walsh place nine times in eight events.
Two of them came in the weight throw as Marcus Myers won the event with a mark of 20.35 meters. Bradley Gallitz was seventh in the same event at 16:48 meters.
Jacob Kernell was third in the mile run with a time of 4:21.23. The 4x400 meter relay team of Hunter Williams, Bryce Ostheimer, Solomon Yoder, and Brandyn Neal was fifth with a time of 3:22.35. Dante Penza was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 15.9 meters.
Varney Pelima was sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.6 meters. Jared Bugaj was seventh in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:54.83. Lane Knoch was seventh in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.37. Andrew Dowdell was seventh in the pole vault with a height of 4.60 meters.
With the indoor season winding down, Walsh now gears up for the G-MAC Championships next week. Hillsdale will serve as the host for the two-day event that starts Friday.
