NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's tennis team qualified for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament for the second straight year and will compete as the number four seed, starting on Firday (April 26).
The Cavaliers will face the regular season champion and number one seed Tiffin at 10:00 AM Eastern on Friday in the first of two semifinals.
Walsh ended the regular season with a 5-17 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the conference. The Cavaliers opened the conference slate with losses to Findlay (5-2), Tiffin (5-2) and Hillsdale (4-1) but won three straight G-MAC matches against Davis & Elkins (4-1), Cedarville (4-2) and Kentucky Wesleyan (5-0).
Freshman Jakob Riglewski finished with a 16-11 record overall this season and went 5-1 in conference play. At number one singles, Riglewski was 14-8 for the Cavaliers. As a doubles partner, Riglewski went 5-1 within the G-MAC.
