Men's Tennis Edges Daemen 5-4

(AMHERST, N.Y.) - Walsh picked up a thrilling 5-4 victory over Daemen in a non-conference match at the Ellicott Tennis Center on Saturday. The Cavaliers improve to 3-0 this season, while the Wildcats dropped to 1-1.

Walsh opened the day with two doubles victory. Vasily Vidmanov and Rodrigo Garcia won at first doubles 8-5. Filipp Kulynych and Tim Bruin closed out the doubles action with an 8-6 win at third doubles.

The man of the match was Vasily Vidmanov who won both his singles and doubles competitions. Vidmanov defeated Tim Georg 6-4,6-2 at first singles. Heitor Adegas was able to get the Cavaliers back on track with a victory at fifth singles 7-6, 6-2. Guilherme Carneiro closed out singles action with a 6-4, 6-0 vitory at sixth singles.

The Cavs are back in action tomorrow as they travel north to take on Niagara University.
