  • Fifteen Cavaliers Earn ITA Academic Honors

    The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2018 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes on Tuesday. In all, 735 teams and 4,328 student-athletes across all five divisions of college tennis were honored.
  • Men's Tennis Falls To Hillsdale In Championship Match

    Much like the women’s match prior, Walsh fell to Hillsdale 5-2 in the G-MAC Tournament Championship at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers end the year at 10-13, while the Chargers improved to 14-6.
  • Men's Tennis Advances To Championship After Thrilling Come-From-Behind Upset Of Findlay

    The most exciting match of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tennis Tournaments took place as No. 3 Walsh played No. 2 Findlay. As it ended up, it was the Cavaliers (10-12) who took a spot in the tournament championship with a 5-4 upset over the Oilers (9-11).
  • Vidmanov, Adegas Earn Spots on G-MAC All-Conference Team

    On the eve of its tournament, the G-MAC has announced its All-Conference team and a pair of Cavaliers have been named. Vasily Vidmanov has been named to the First Team, while Heitor Adegas was named to the Second Team.

    The Walsh men’s tennis team concluded the regular season with a 9-0 loss to Hillsdale at the Biermann Center on Saturday. The Cavaliers dropped to 9-12 overall and 4-4 in the conference before moving on to the G-MAC tournament.

    The Walsh men’s tennis team won its penultimate match of the regular season with a 6-3 victory over Cedarville at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers (9-11, 4-3) have secured a spot in the G-MAC postseason with the win against the Yellow Jackets (5-14, 1-6).
  • Walsh Evens Up In G-MAC With Win Over Cedarville

    Walsh won the first of two consecutive matches against Cedarville by a score of 7-2 at the North Canton Racquet Club on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 8-11 on the season and even at 3-3 within the G-MAC. The Yellow Jackets are now 5-12 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

    The Walsh men’s tennis team were upended 8-1 in non-conference regional action against Fairmont State on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 7-11 overall, while the Falcons improved to 7-7 on the year.

    The Walsh men’s tennis team made it a complete sweep of Davis & Elkins across all sports on Good Friday with a 7-1 victory at the Ridgeview Racquet Club. The Cavaliers (7-10, 1-3) have now swept the season series with the Senators (2-11, 0-5).

    The Walsh men’s tennis team faced a tough Mercyhurst squad in non-conference regional action, but unfortunately the Cavaliers were shutout 9-0. The Cavs dropped to 6-10 overall, while the Lakers, ranked No. 49 in the nation, improved to 12-1.

    Walsh dropped another tight contest to Findlay by a score of 5-4 at YMCA East on Sunday morning. The Cavaliers dropped to 6-9 overall and 1-3 in the conference, while the Oilers improved to 6-9 overall and 3-1 in the G-MAC.

    Walsh found the win column once again in impressive fashion as it shutout Shawnee State 9-0 in almost all facets of the match. The Cavaliers (5-4) snapped a four-match losing streak in the process with their win over the Bears (3-7).

    In its first match of the calendar year, Walsh fell from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 6-3 defeat to Edinboro on Saturday. The Cavaliers are now 4-1 while the Fighting Scots are 3-0.

    The Walsh men’s tennis team opened up the season with a 6-3 victory over Wooster at the recently renovated Klekotka Tennis Complex on Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers took a 2-1 lead after doubles and quickly won three matches in singles action to secure the win.
