Men's Tennis Drops Spring Break Opener Against Eckerd

(ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.) -  The Walsh men's tennis team faced a tough Eckerd squad in the first match of spring break and fell to the hosts by a score of 8-1. The Cavaliers fell to 6-5 on the season while the Tritons improved to 2-3 with a pair of wins on the day.

The lone point for the Cavaliers came at first singles where Vasily Vidmanov took down Victor Appelgvist in a three-set thriller by scores of 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Jose Fernandez was close to giving Walsh a second point, but he fell in three sets 6-1, 3-6, 10-4.

Walsh is back in action on Monday at Florida Southern.
