(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - Walsh University Men's Tennis Head Coach Bryan Whittaker recently announced the signing of two German tennis players to the recruiting class of 2016-17. Standouts Tom Rohling and Felix Zimmermann will join the Cavaliers this upcoming season after signing National Letters of Intent.
With the loss of graduating seniors Pablo Cabezon and Carlos Jaque, Walsh was in need of two solid players to help the Cavs continue to build on the success of this past season. The Cavaliers qualified for the GLIAC Championships for the first time since joining the conference and earned a NCAA Division II Midwest Region ranking of No. 10, their first ranking they made the transition to NCAA Division II.
"I couldn't be more pleased about the addition of these two fine players to my squad," said Coach Whittaker. "Felix Zimmermann is a talented aggressive all-court player and Tom Rohling is a big-hitting lefty that should help ease the pain of losing lefty Pablo Cabezon. Both players should make an immediate impact on the singles and doubles success of the team."
The Cavaliers finished 12-12 overall and 4-5 in the conference with a loaded schedule that featured numerous matches against ranked teams.
