(EVANSVILLE, Ind.) – Walsh dropped the final match of the GLIAC-GLVC Tennis crossover as it fell 7-2 to Rockhurst. The Cavaliers are now 5-5 on the year as they get ready for conference play and spring break games. The Hawks were 4-0 after the win.
Rockhurst controlled the match from the early going with a sweep in doubles action. The Hawks had to work for the overall win as four of the singles matches could have gone either way.
Pablo Cabezon (Jr., Santander, Spain/Calasanz Collegue) at first singles and Ross Whittaker (So., Massillon, OH/Lake) at third singles were able to pull out the two wins for the Cavaliers. Cabezon defeated Truit Gray 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 while Whittaker defeated Decho Valev 6-4, 7-5.
The Cavs open conference play Thursday as they host Northwood at the Hall of Fame Courts in Canton at 11 a.m.
