(INDIANAPOLIS) – Individuals of the Walsh men's tennis team remained alive today in the ITA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament, but only one will see action on the final day of the tournament tomorrow.
Ross Whittaker won third round and quarterfinal matchups in the Men's A Consolation bracket to advance to tomorrow's semifinals. In his third round match, he defeated Aaron Barris of Southern Indiana 6-4, 6-3. In the quarters, he faced fellow GLIAC member Aaron Dial of Ferris State in more convincing fashion by scores of 6-1, 6-3.
This sets up tomorrow's semifinals match with Joey Fischer of Rockhurst at 10:30 a.m. The winner of that match will advance to the finals at 1 p.m. and face either Findlay's John Kidd or McKendree's Macimilian Ilic. Ilic defeated Walsh's Vasilv Vidmanov 6-2, 6-2 in the third round of the same bracket.
