Walsh Scores Second Half Revenge On Ohio Dominican

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Just five days after falling to Ohio Dominican 3-0, Walsh rebounded to defeat the very same team 2-1 at Panther Stadium on Thursday evening. The win gave the Cavaliers (3-2-1, 1-2-1) their first conference win of the year while handing the Panthers (3-3, 2-1) their first.

The Maroon and Gold had to come from behind to get the victory as the Panthers opened the scoring in the 23rd minute on a goal by Ryan Kasprzak on a deflection off of a header.

It wasn't until the second half that the Cavaliers scored the equalizer on a set piece. Dwight Van Dyke took a corner kick that was flicked on by Gary Canam to a waiting Steven Taylor who headed it in during the 68th minute.

Just over seven minutes later, Manny Perez provided what proved to be the game winner on an assist by Alex Jackson. It was both Taylor's and Perez's first goal of the season.

Tom Jackson played the entire game in goal to improve to 1-1-1 on the season. He made seven saves on the night on 21 shots faced. Walsh managed 12 shots with six on goal.

The Cavs now set their attention to arch-rival Malone. They'll head to Canton Central Catholic to take on the Pioneers on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
