Ajala-Alexis Hat Tricks Malone, Treats Walsh To 6-1 Win

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Head Coach Andy Hoggarth couldn't have asked for a better way to end the regular season as Walsh dismantled rival Malone 6-1 at Milazzo Field Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers (7-9-1, 6-8) used a second half blitz of five goals to inundate the Pioneers (1-15, 1-13).

Jean Paul Ajala-Alexis was the star of the night as he scored a hat trick to give him 10 for the regular season. His first came on a free kick in the 30th minute for the only goal of the first half.

The Cavaliers didn't wait long to score in the second as Simon Miller made it 2-0 on the assist from Nathan Kett in the 55th minute. Miller wasn't done as he assisted on the next two goal: the first by Myles Cornwall five minutes later and Ajala-Alexis' second five minutes after that.

It only took another five minutes for Ajala-Alexis to get his hat trick and make the score 5-0 with an assist from Brett Sparks.

Malone eventually scored on a penalty kick by Miguel Rodriguez, but Walsh was able to get it back on a header from Carter Hagy inside the box on a pass from Alex Jackson.

Walsh had the pressure on the Pioneers for most of the night and outshot the visitors 22-10 overall. Of those, only four were on goal and Jon-Paul Della Pia made saves on all three shots in play.

The Cavaliers now move on to the G-MAC Tournament where they will play in the quarterfinals against top-seeded Ohio Valley. The two teams will meet on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Vienna, West Virginia.
