  • Ajala-Alexis Named OCSA All-Ohio

    The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association has released its All-Ohio teams and three Cavaliers have been named to the 2017 edition. On the women's side, Olivia Peters and Alisha Himes were selected after leading Walsh to its best season in program history. On the men's side, Jean-Paul Ajala-Alexis was named after a breakthrough rookie season for the Cavs.

  • No. 8 Walsh Ready For Rematch With No. 1 OVU
    October 28, 2017
    Walsh is prepped and ready for its first G-MAC Tournament game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. against conference champion Ohio Valley. The Cavaliers (7-9-1) hosted the Fighting Scots (14-1-3) back on October 12 with OVU taking home a 3-1 victory, but the Maroon and Gold showed they could play with anyone in the conference.
  • Men's Soccer Season Ends At Ohio Valley In Quarterfinals

    The season came to an end for the Walsh men’s soccer team as it fell to G-MAC Champions Ohio Valley 4-0 this afternoon. The No. 8 Cavaliers complete the year with a record of 7-10-1. The No. 1-seed Fighting Scots, ranked No. 6 nationally, are now 15-1-3.

    Head Coach Andy Hoggarth couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the regular season as Walsh dismantled rival Malone 6-1 at Milazzo Field Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers (7-9-1, 6-8) used a second half blitz of five goals to inundate the Pioneers (1-15, 1-13).
  • Cavs Fall In Double Overtime to Alderson Broaddus

    Senior night was spoiled by an Alderson Broaddus goal midway through the second overtime as Walsh fell by a count of 3-2 on a chilly fall Saturday evening at Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers (6-9-1, 5-8) overcame a 2-0 deficit to tie the game late in the second half despite being down a man, but it was the Battlers (8-7-2, 7-4-2) who came out on top.
  • Cavs Fall To Davis & Elkins But Still Clinch Playoff Spot

    The Walsh men’s soccer team faced good news and bad news on Thursday evening. The bad news was that the Cavaliers (6-7-1, 5-6) lost to Davis & Elkins 1-0 after a late first half goal held up for the Senators (10-2-2, 9-1-2). The good news was that despite the loss, the Cavaliers have qualified for the G-MAC tournament and will play in the quarterfinals next Saturday.
  • Late Goal Helps Men's Soccer's Playoff Hopes

    A late goal by Gary Canam off of a corner kick gave Walsh an important win over Cedarville by a score of 2-1 on Saturday evening. With three games left in the season, the Cavaliers (6-7-1, 5-6) now have 15 points and lead the teams who have yet to clinch one of the final two playoff spots open. The Yellow Jackets (7-8, 6-6) have already clinched a postseason bid.

    The Walsh men’s soccer team put up a tough fight, but it wasn’t enough against No. 11 Ohio Valley as the Cavaliers fell 3-1 Thursday evening. The Cavs fell to 5-7-1 overall and 4-6 in the conference on the season, while the Fighting Scots improved to 12-1-2 overall and remained unbeaten at 9-0-2 in the G-MAC.

    Walsh fell on the road to Ohio Dominican by a score of 2-0 at Panther Field on Saturday evening in the capital. The Cavaliers fall to 5-6-1 overall and 4-5 in the G-MAC. The Panthers improved to 4-8 overall and 3-7 in the conference with the win.
  • Walsh Falls on the Road at Findlay

    Walsh fell to Findlay by a score of 7-2 on a stormy fall Thursday afternoon. The Cavaliers (5-5-1, 3-3) had trouble shutting down Findlay’s offense as the Oilers (5-5-1, 4-4) scored six goals in the second half.

    Dwight Van Dyke had the best game of any player in Walsh soccer history as he scored four goals and an assist for nine points in a 7-0 thrashing of Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
  • Walsh Too Much For Trevecca In 3-1 Win

    Gary Canam scored two goals off of corner kicks to lead Walsh to a 3-1 win in its first game ever against Trevecca Nazarene University on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers climbed over .500 and are now 4-3-1 overall and 3-2 in the G-MAC. The Trojans dropped to 2-3-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the conference.
  • Cornwall, Cavs Get Past Storm 3-1

    A pair of Myles Cornwall goals helped Walsh go past Lake Erie by a 3-1 count in G-MAC play on Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers evened up to 3-3-1 overall and 2-2 in the conference, while the Storm dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the G-MAC. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Cavs.

    Walsh fell in the final game of a four-game road stretch at the hands of Alderson Broaddus by a score of 3-0 in G-MAC action on Saturday evening. The Cavaliers fell to 2-3-1 overall on the year and 1-2 in the conference. The Battlers improved to 3-2-2 overall and 2-0-2 in the conference.

    Host Davis & Elkins was too much for Walsh as the Cavaliers fell by a score of 4-0 in G-MAC action Wednesday evening. The Cavs (2-2-1, 1-1) held the Senators (2-1-1, 1-0-1) to one goal in the first half, but D&E’s offense took control in the second half.

    The Walsh men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season as it fell to Daemen by a score of 2-1. Daemen kept the scoring balanced by scoring in both the first and second half. The Cavs are now 2-1-1 on the season while Daemen improved to 2-2.
  • Cavs Crush Pioneers In G-MAC Debut

    In the final men’s soccer game at Pioneer Field, Walsh cruised by Malone by a score of 5-1 in its first Great Midwest Athletic Conference game in program history. The Cavaliers improved to 2-0-1 with the victory, while the Pioneers dropped to 0-2 on the short season.

    The Walsh men’s soccer team scored even with Salem International with a 3-3 draw at Milazzo Field this afternoon. The Cavaliers (1-0-1) opened up the game with the first two goals, but saw the Tigers (0-1-1) respond to tie on two separate occasions.
  • Men's Soccer Opens Up With Slippery Rock

    The Walsh men’s soccer team kicks off the season that is new to them as a program, but not new to Head Coach Andy Hoggarth who enters his second season at the helm. The Cavaliers host Slippery Rock of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference where Hoggarth led previously before coming to North Canton last season.
  • Kett's Late Score Gives Walsh Opening Day Win Over Slippery Rock

    Nathan Kett provided the heroics as he scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Slippery Rock in the season opener on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers (1-0) scored the goal in similar fashion as the women’s game just prior to theirs with just a few minutes remaining on the clock.
  • Men's Soccer Selected Ninth In First G-MAC Preseason Poll

    The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has released its 2017 Men’s Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour with Walsh selected to finish ninth. The Cavaliers received 43 points in the voting process.
