  • Latimer Selected to Team USA in CISM World Football Cup
    January 13, 2017
    Former Walsh Cavalier soccer player Ben Latimer has been selected to play for Team USA in the second CISM World Football Cup. Latimer played for the Cavaliers from 2008 to 2011 before he graduated in 2012 with a degree in marketing. He is now a member of the United States Air Force where he hopes to become an officer.
  • Moody, Canam Named to All-GLIAC Team

    A pair of Walsh men’s soccer players have earned postseason accolades as Bailey Moody and Gary Canam have been named to the All-GLIAC Team. Moody, a senior from Middleburg Heights, was selected to the Second Team as a forward while Canam, a freshman from Pickering, Ontario, was named an Honorable Mention.

    Bailey Moody made the most of senior night as he scored the only goal in a 1-0 shutout of Ashland on a chilly Wednesday night. Moody has now scored all three goals for the Cavaliers (6-10-1, 4-10-1) against the Eagles (4-11-1, 2-11-1) this season.

  • Northwood Slips By Walsh In Men's Soccer

    Two goals separated by just over a minute midway through the second half spoiled a Walsh upset bid as it fell to Northwood 2-1 at Dean Field on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers (5-9-1, 3-9-1) held a 1-0 lead until the 75th minute when the Timberwolves (9-2-3, 8-2-3) scored back-to-back goals for the win.

    The Walsh men’s soccer team fell to Northern Michigan by a score of 2-1 on a warm Sunday afternoon. All three goals were scored in the first half as the Cavaliers dropped to 5-8-1 overall and 3-8-1 in the conference. The Wildcats improved to 4-7-2 overall and 4-6-2 in the GLIAC.
  • Men's Soccer Gets Revenge On ODU in 2-1 Win

    Simon Miller’s header in the 66th minute gave Walsh a 2-1 win over visiting Ohio Dominican in midweek conference game at Milazzo Field Wednesday evening. The Cavaliers (5-7-1, 3-7-1) earned a big win and split the season the Panthers (4-8, 4-6).

    Dan Kenner sent the Maroon and Gold faithful into celebration with his golden goal in the 95th minute as Walsh defeated rival Malone in overtime. It was Kenner’s second goal in as many games to start the season as the Cavaliers improved to 2-0 in front of nearly 500 fans at Milazzo Field Saturday night. The Pioneers evened out at 1-1 on the year.

  • Andy Hoggarth Named New Men's Soccer Head Coach

    Walsh University and the Director of Athletics Dale Howard have announced the hiring of Andy Hoggarth as the new men’s soccer head coach. Hoggarth was formerly the head coach at Slippery Rock University for 2014 and 2015.
