Cavs Win 10th Straight; Truax Sets Career Goal Mark

(AMHERST, N.Y.) -  Ben Truax (Sr., 6-1, Mansfield, OH/St. Peters) scored twice to become Walsh's all-time leader in goals scored in leading the Cavs to a 4-1 win at Daemen College (3-7, 1-4) today. The win was the tenth straight for the streaking Cavs, and improved their overall record to 11-1, and their American Mideast Conference mark to a perfect 7-0.

Truax tied Chris Collier's career goal record of 45 when he scored on assists from Nathaniel Milhoan (Sr., 5-11, Hartville, OH/Lake) and Clint Merck (Sr., 6-0. Randolph, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) 44 seconds into the game. Daemen tied the game at 17:40, and the score remained that way as the first half ended.

Broc Sutek (Jr., 6-0, Minerva, OH/HS) scored what proved to the game-winning goal on an assist from Adam Greenwood (Jr., 5-11, Blackpool, England/Lytham St. Annes) at the 51:21 mark. Truax then added the first of two insurance goals, and the 45th of his career, on an assist from Matt Bly (Jr., 5-10, Bellbrook, OH/HS) at 52:13. The Cavs Justin Semple (Jr., 5-7, North Canton, OH/GlenOak) then added the fourth goal on an assist from Sutek at 70:20.

Walsh outshot Daemen 23-16.

The Cavs are at Fisher College for an AMC contest on Sunday at 2:30 pm.
