(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) - The Walsh University Men's Golf team traveled to Nashville to participate in the 18 team Music City Invite hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University. The Cavaliers carded a two day total 609 to land them in thirteenth place overall.
Consistency was key as Drew Savage and Brandon Netzel would guide the Cavaliers through the event. Both Savage and Netzel posted 36 hole totals of 149 that landed them tied for thirty-fourth place overall. Savage would post the team low round of 73 on day one and would follow that up with a 76 on the final day. Netzel would flipflop on his two rounds and post 76 his first day and 73 in his final round. Mark Mokros would be next in line for the Maroon and Gold firing rounds of 79 and 76 for a two day total 155. Noah Frase would follow and card rounds of 77 and 79. Jake Barth would round out the line up for the Cavaliers and would go on to tally rounds of 83 and 81. The Cavs carded 25 total team birdies over the two day event.
Hillsdale College would post an impressive 6 under two day total of 570 to capture the team champion title. Josh Davenport from Hillsdale, Jagger Richard from Northwood and Ryan Rozic from Trevecca would share the first place slot after the end of play. The threesome would go on to a playoff where Rozic would defeat Richard and Davenport after battling four additional holes to take home the individual medalist award.
The men tee it up in two weeks as they compete in the G-MAC Championship in Lexington, Kentucky.
