INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced the Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday (Feb. 25) and for the fourth time this season, a Walsh Cavalier has been honored.
Junior forward Sterling Christy was named G-MAC Athlete of the Week for last week following his stat line against rival Malone in the Mayors' Cup battle on Saturday.
In the 75-61 over Malone, Christy finished just shy of a triple-double with 19 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. He also had two steals and one block. He shot 70% from the floor as he made seven of ten shots.
For the season per game, Christy averages 13.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He leads the team with 264 rebounds, 92 assists and 37 blocks. From the floor, Christy is shooting 57.2% overall.
Within the G-MAC, Christy is third in rebounds per game, second in field goal percentage, eighth in assists and third in blocks.
The Cavaliers host the Storm of Lake Erie on Thursday (Feb. 28) in the final regular season game before the G-MAC Tournament.
