(CANTON, Ohio) – As the season has progressed, so has Walsh's football team as the Cavaliers have gotten better with each game. Now the Maroon and Gold (1-3, 1-1) prepares for perhaps their toughest opponent to date in Ohio Dominican (4-1, 2-1).
The Cavs are recently coming off of a 23-17 win against Kentucky Wesleyan to give Head Coach John Fankhauser his first win as the leading man of a football team. The Panthers have won their past two contests and most recently defeated Alderson Broaddus 66-27 in Columbus.
The game will feature two of the top running backs in the conference in Koby Adu-Poku and EJ Colson. Adu-Poku is coming off of consecutive 100-yard games, while Colson also has two games over the century mark under his belt as well. Colson leads the G-MAC with 93.4 yards per game, while Adu-Poku is third with 77.8 yards per game. Adu-Poku was a key figure in last week's win over Kentucky Wesleyan with two first quarter touchdowns to give him three for the season to match Colson.
Walsh's defense will also get a test from Ohio Dominican's offense. The Cavaliers come in with the second-best defense in the conference with just 179.8 yards allowed per game, while the Panthers top the field with 306.4 yards a game.
