(ASHLAND, Ohio) – Walsh hits the road for the final time this season as it heads No. 17 Ashland for the penultimate game of the regular season. The Cavaliers enter the contest at 1-8 overall and 0-8 in the GLIAC while the Eagles hold a 7-2 record overall and 5-2 within the conference.
Last week, the Cavaliers played tough against visiting Ohio Dominican for the first half and trailed 14-13 at the break, but the Panthers used a 21-point third quarter to go on to victory. Ashland suffered just its second loss of the season with a 24-21 setback at Michigan Tech. Both of the Eagles' losses this season have come by just three points.
The last time these two schools played each other, Walsh took Ashland down to the wire in the home opener eventually losing 31-24. With the game tied 10-10 going into the fourth, each team scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter with Kalvin Gordon scoring from a yard out with 40 seconds left to send it to overtime.
Kickoff with the Eagles will take place Saturday at 1 p.m.
