(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – No game will be bigger this season than the one this weekend as Walsh hosts rival Malone for Homecoming. The battle for the Bankert-Gallagher Memorial Trophy kicks off Saturday at 6 p.m. from North Canton Memorial Stadium.
This will be the 22nd time the two intra-county rivals square off on the gridiron with Walsh leading the all-time series 15-6 and have won an unprecedented seven-straight meetings.
Some history will be involved in this game as the first time these two teams met was back in 1995 on the very same field.
The Cavaliers come into the contest still searching for their first win of the season while the Pioneers enter with a record of 2-5.
Nick King will lead the Cavaliers' defense as the top tackler in the conference with 73 takedowns. He's second in the conference in tackles per game with 10.4. Last week he had eight and had a 74-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
Audio/Video: Radio coverage will be on 95.9 FM WNPQ The Light with play-by-play man Mick Marano. The game will also be aired on Big Time Sports TV on tape delay on Sunday at 2 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m. The game will be on Time Warner Cable 989 Massillon Cable 128.
