(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh fell to Tiffin by a score of 35-7 in GLIAC action at North Canton Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Cavaliers to 0-6 overall and in the conference while the Dragons improved to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the GLIAC.
The visitors jumped out to a 28-0 lead before the Cavaliers were able to score with a touchdown late in the third quarter. That's when Aaron Male scampered in from 13 yards out on a run up the middle with 2:05 to go in the third. It was his second touchdown of the season and came in his best game of the year thus far as he rushed for 79 yards on 12 carries for a 6.6 average.
The score capped off a quick four-play, 64-yard drive that was set up by a Tiffin fumble forced by Trevor Smith and recovered by Lashay Whitmore. A 32-yard pass from Mitchell Ault to Blake Williams followed by a 17-yard pass from Ault to Male set up the score.
Overall, Male had 111 total yards with his three receptions for 32 yards.
Defensively Nick King led the Cavs with 15 tackles, six solo, including one for a loss.
Walsh returns to the gridiron next week for its final trip of the season to Michigan at Wayne State. Kickoff in the Motor City is set for 12 p.m.
