(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh will return to its roots this Saturday as it takes on Saginaw Valley State in the home opener at North Canton Memorial Stadium at noon. It's the first meeting ever between the Cavaliers (0-2, 0-2) and the Cardinals (1-1, 1-1).
The Cavaliers will play all home games during the season from Memorial Stadium because of the renovation construction to Tom Benson Stadium. Walsh played all six home games of its inaugural season and four games of its sophomore season there in 1995 and 1996.
This is the second of three-straight weeks the Cavs will face an opponent it has never seen before. Now in their fifth season in the GLIAC, Walsh finally met Hillsdale on the gridiron for the first time last week. Next week, the Cavs will host Grand Valley State for the initial meeting between the schools.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free 2016 Walsh football schedule poster courtesy of Sonic! located in Washington Square.
