Walsh Women Ranked No. 19 To Start Track Season

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – With the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season set to kick off today, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the NCAA Division II Preseason National Computer Team Rankings.

After finishing last season tied for ninth at the national championships, Walsh enters the poll at No. 19 with 50.11 points. The Cavaliers are one of four G-MAC teams ranked in the top 25. Along with the MIAA, no other conference has more teams in the top 25.

Coming in at the top position is Pittsburgh State with 125.63 points. The Gorillas finished fourth at the national championships a year ago. The defending national champions Adams State is second with 111.56 points.

Other teams from the G-MAC in the top 25 include No. 6 Findlay, No. 10 Hillsdale, and No. 20 Cedarville.

The Maroon and Gold will start the season tomorrow at the Youngtown State Ice Breaker and Saturday at the Toy Drive Invite hosted by Mount Union.
