DMR Posts New School Record, Improves Provo Time at GVSU Big Meet

(ALLENDALE, Mich./MARIETTA, Ohio) – Walsh Track & Field had a busy day with split squads at Grand Valley State's Big Meet and Marietta's Alumni Open. The Cavaliers did well at both events with more records and provo marks being met.

On the women's side, the distance medley relay team of Andra Lehotay, Jetaiya Smith, Tori Reeves, and Sarah Berger finished third with a time of 11:35.90 at Grand Valley. Not only did it set a new school record and improve their provo time, but it moved them to No. 4 in the nation in the event.

In Marietta, Katie Mokros finished first in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.25. Malia Turley finished fifth in the same event with a time of 7.83.

All-American Kaitlyn Barber finished second in the pole vault with a height of 3.81 meters.

Morrisa Mallory finished first in the shot put with a throw of 13.57 meters. Kendra Zbinovec was right behind her with a chuck of 13.20 meters.

Payton Breehl finished fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.59 meters.
