  • Berger, Carter Named 16-17 Athletes of the Year

    The votes are in and Sarah Berger and Zac Carter have been selected as the 2016-17 Walsh University Athletes of the Year. It’s the third consecutive year Berger has been honored as she continues to cement her legacy as a Cavalier. Carter had a season for the record books and accomplished feats not seen for many years at Walsh.
  • Barber, Berger Named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans

    Juniors Kaitlyn Barber and Sarah Berger have repeated their honors as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans for Division II Track & Field/Cross Country for the 2016-17 season.
  • Mizicko Adds 36 To Track & Field Teams

    Fresh off leading Walsh to a 20th place finish at the national championships, Head Coach Rob Mizicko has announced the signing and transfers of 36 student-athletes for the upcoming season. Twenty of those are on the women's team with 16 on the men's side.
  • Cavaliers Go 4-for-4 With All-Americans, Women No. 20 Nationally

    The Walsh Track & Field tram capped off another spectacular national championship meet with Sarah Berger, Kaitlyn Barber, and Andra Lehotay all being named All-American yet again. The Cavaliers have now going 4-for-4 with athletes being named All-American at the oudoor national championships, and 10-for-10 for the year.
  • Berger, Lehotay Advance to 1,500 Finals

    Walsh saw all three athletes reach success in the opening day of the NCAA Division II National Championships at the IMG Academy. On the men’s side, Marcus Myers became a two-time All-American as he finished fourth in the hammer, while Sarah Berger and Andra Lehotay both advanced to Saturday’s finals in the 1,500 meter run.
  • Women Return To Top 25, Five Cavs Named All-Region

    The Walsh women’s track & field team has returned to the USTFCCCA Top 25 national poll after a five-week hiatus. The Cavaliers re-emerged at the No. 24 spot heading into next week’s national championships from Bradenton, Florida.

    The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship qualifiers have been announced and the Walsh Cavaliers will send four to Bradenton, Florida. The women’s team will send three, while the men’s team will send one.

    The Walsh women’s track and field team closed out an impressive GLIAC Outdoor Championship Meet with two of its stars taking home awards. All-Americans Sarah Berger and Andra Lehotay were both honored as Berger was named Female Track Athlete of the Meet and Lehotay was named Freshman Track Athlete of the Meet.
  • Women Sixth After First Full Day at GLIAC Championships

    After the first full day of competition at the GLIAC Track & Field Outdoor Championships, Walsh sits in sixth place with 19 points heading into the final day. Grand Valley State currently leads the field with 33.5 points. Hillsdale sits in second with 30.

  • Women's Track Wins Walsh Invitational

    Sixteen schools all met at Milazzo Field for the Walsh Invitational with the Cavaliers finishing well in both men’s and women’s events. On the women’s side, the Cavaliers won the event with 105 points. John Carroll finished second with 97.

    The Walsh women’s track & field team is back in the top 20 at No. 16 in the fourth week of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Team Rankings as posted by the USTFCCCA. It’s the third consecutive week the Cavaliers have been in the top 25 and jump up seven spots from last week’s ranking at No. 23.
  • Berger Named GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week For Fourth Time

    For the fourth time this season, Sarah Berger has been named GLIAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. It’s the second time she’s received the honor in three weeks of the outdoor season, and was named so after running in a different event.
  • Berger Qualifies For Nationals In Second Event

    The Walsh women’s track & field team had a fantastic day at Mount Union’s Homon Open as the Cavaliers won five events on the day. The highlight of the day went to none other than four-time All-American Sarah Berger who won the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

    For the second week in a row, the Walsh women’s track team is ranked nationally in the top 25. This week the Cavaliers set at No. 23 with 52.18 points, down from 59.79 points a week ago.

    The Walsh women’s track and field team had a solid weekend at Wooster with a second place finish with 11 teams competing. The Cavaliers finished with 131.5 points for silver.
  • Walsh Ranked No. 14 In National Rankings

    The Walsh women’s track & field team vaulted into the top 25 and landed at No. 14 in the second USTFCCCA NCAA Division II national rankings. The Cavaliers jumped up from being unranked a week ago after their first two meets of the season at the Raleigh Relays and the Amy Adams Invitational hosted by Muskingum.

In women's competition, Walsh junior Sarah Berger earned GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week honors, while Walsh junior Kaitlyn Barber captured GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week accolades.

  • Berger, Lehotay Help Women Finish Ninth At National Championships

    Sarah Berger and Andra Lehotay capped off a spectacular indoor season for Walsh with a third and fourth place finish at the national championships today. Both raced in the mile event with Berger crossing the finish line at 4:42:38 for a new school record and Lehotay clocking in at 4:45.04, just .15 ahead of Adams State’s Roisin Flanagan.

    It was another excellent day for the Walsh track & field team as it produced a third and fourth place finish on the second day of the indoor national championships. Kaitlyn Barber became an All-American for the second time with a third-place finish in the pole vault, while the distance medley relay team finished fourth.
  • Berger, Lehotay Qualify For Mile Finals

    Sarah Berger and Andra Lehotay qualified for the finals of the mile by finishing second and third in their heat today at NCAA Division II indoor national championships. The duo also posted the second and third best times out of everyone just behind Emilee Trost of Minnesota Duluth.

    After a spectacular fourth-place performance at the GLIAC Indoor Championships last weekend, the Walsh women’s track & field team moved up four spots to No. 16 in the national rankings. It’s the fourth consecutive week the Cavaliers have been ranked in the top 25, and highest ranking ever since joining the NCAA.
  • Six Cavs Named All-Region

    Six Cavaliers on the Women’s Track & Field Team were named 2017 NCAA Division II Indoor All-Region Honorees this season by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
