SVSU Takes Down Walsh Women's Tennis

(UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.) – The Walsh women's tennis team fell to host Saginaw Valley State University in GLIAC action by a score of 7-2 at the SVSU Tennis Complex on Sunday. The Cavaliers fell to 2-7 overall and 1-7 in the conference while the Cardinals improved to 5-3 overall and in the GLIAC.

Both points for the Maroon and Gold came in singles action as Sofya Logunova continued her great senior season with a win at first doubles and Daria Bondareva was victorious at thirds.

Logunova disposed of her opponent Izabella Ismailova quickly by scores of 6-1, 6-0. Bondareva joined her later in the winner's circle with a win over Shea Donahue by scores of 6-2, 6-4.

The Cavaliers will return to action this Tuesday as they host former conference rival Daemen in a men's and women's doubleheader. The twin bill is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
