(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – For the third time this season, Walsh scored 20 goals as it defeated West Virginia Wesleyan in a route by the score of 20-10. The Cavaliers (5-2) led the Bobcats (1-5) by just a single goal at halftime, but exploded for 13 goals in the second half while limiting the visitors to four.
Wesleyan scored the opening goal of the second half to tie the game at 7-7, but the Maroon and Gold reeled off six consecutive goals and never looked back. The Bobcats ended the run with a score to get within five with just over 20 minutes left, but the Cavs answered with the next five goals.
Sarah McCormick continued her impressive play with five goals on the afternoon. Maria Nobile also aided the offense with four goals and an assist for five points. Lane Brunkala had three goals and an assist, and Aly Jajack added three goals.
Between the pipes, Mikaela Faus made eight saves on 29 shots faced.
Walsh has now won five of its last six and two of three on its current four-game home stand. The Cavs will conclude that stretch of home games with Ursuline on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
