(ASHLAND, Ohio) – The Walsh women's basketball team fell to unbeaten No. 1 Ashland by a score of 92-50 on the road at Kates Gymnasium on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers fell to 13-12 overall and 9-9 in the conference. The Eagles are now 26-0 overall and 18-0 in the GLIAC.
The hosts led start to finish as they jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They were led by five players in double figures and shot 55 percent from the field while limiting the Cavs to two players in double figures.
Brooklyn Wooten, the reigning GLIAC South Division Player of the Week, had a solid game as she was 9-of-15 from the field and an impressive 4-of-5 on 3-pointers. She shared co-game high honors with 24 points and added six rebounds and four steals.
Jamie Halloran joined her in double-figures with 12 points and also had four triples on the evening.
Walsh now heads to Tiffin for the final road game of the regular season. Tip-off with the Dragons is set for 1 p.m. A win by the Cavs or a loss by Findlay against Ashland would clinch a playoff bid for Walsh.
