Walsh Falls at Akron

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh traveled to the University of Akron Saturday afternoon for an exhibition game against the Zips, the Cavs fell 70-81. 

Walsh remained close in the half only trailing by three after the first quarter.  Walsh went on a 8-0 run toward the beginning of the second quarter to go up 29-24.

The Zips fought back and Walsh trailed by six at the half.  Brooklyn Wooten led all scorers with seven points at the break.

Akron pulled away in the second half leading by 16 at one point, Walsh cut the lead to 10 before falling by 11.

Wooten led Walsh with 24 points, eight rebounds and four assists.  Jalynn Graham posted her fifth career double double on the day with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Alex Hochstedler also added 10 points for the Cavs.

Senior Hannah Plybon led Akron with 18 points seven rebounds and six assists.

Walsh returns to the court next Friday at the Crossover Challenge hosted by University of Indianapolis.  The Cavs take on Lewis University at 5:15 p.m.
