(XENIA, Ohio) – On the eve of its softball tournament, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced its postseason awards. Three Cavaliers have been named to its All-Conference Team with Jessie Rock being named Freshman of the Year and First Team selection. Olivia Pifer was named on the Second Team, while Six was listed as an Honorable Mention.
Rock blasted onto the scene for the Maroon and Gold as the team's catcher and provided a big boost to the offense. She was third in the conference with a .433 batting average and started in all 42 games. She led the league in slugging percentage with a mark of .738, doubles with 19, and total bases with 104. She was also near the top in many other categories. She was third in on-base percentage at .459, fourth with 61 hits, fourth with 36 RBI, and tied for seventh in home runs and two shy of the league-high with six.
Pifer capped an incredible career with her Second Team selection to go along with her All-GLIAC Second Team and All-GLIAC Honorable Mention picks the last two seasons. Once again she was near the top of the league rankings in numerous categories. Pifer led the league at the end of the regular season with 148.2 innings pitched, 22 starts, and four saves. She was second with 122 strikeouts, fourth in batters striking out while looking with 33, and sixth in wins with 13.
Like Rock, Six also had an impressive rookie campaign in the outfield. She was third on the team with a .314 batting average, second with a .424 slugging percentage, and third with a .352 on-base percentage. She was second on the team with 23 runs scored, third with 37 hits, and third with 20 RBI.
