(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh softball swept Lake Erie in its final series on Friday by scores of 2-1 and 14-10 to close the season.
In game one Lake Erie scored first in the top of the fourth, but Walsh rallied back with a home run by Kirsten Reed. Annie Woolf sealed the deal with a single to bring in Leah Roten to put the Cavs up 2-1.
Olivia Pifer got the win with seven strikeouts on the day.
Walsh got the swept in game two defeating Lake Erie 14-10.
Walsh scored seven runs in the top of the second starting with another two-run homer by Roten. The Storm fought back scoring three runs in the bottom of the second to make it 10-3.
Kirsten singled in the top of the third to bring in Rebekah Hoffee to put Walsh up 11-3. Lake Erie school three more in the bottom of the third. (11-6)
A wild pitch brought in Nikki Newman in the top of the fourth and a single by Alyssa Younes scored Rivera and Annie Denhe to cap the Cavs out at 14 runs for the day.
The Storm came up short scoring four more to end the game 14-10.
