(CEDARVILLE, Ohio) – No. 25 Walsh had all five runners finish within the top 15 to places second at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers finished second with 45 points and were narrowly edged by Malone by just three points for the top spot.
Impressively, Walsh had a better combined total time for all runners by five seconds at 2:08.58. The Cavs' average of 25:47 was also a second better than anyone in the field as well.
Jacob Kernell was the top thin clad for the Cavaliers as he finished third in the individual standings with a time of 25:17.8. Spencer Wirick allowed Walsh to be the only team with two runners in the top five as he finished fifth with a time of 25:30.4. Justin Maroni squeezed in for a top 10 finish at 10th with a time of 25:54.9.
The Cavaliers have now finished second or better at all three meets this season.
This will be the one time during the season the Cavs don't take a week off as they will head to Lewis for the G-MAC/GLVC Conference Crossover. That race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m.
