Cavs Seventh After First Day at GLIACs

(FINDLAY, Ohio) – The Walsh men's track and field team opened the day with five points to stand in seventh place at the GLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Tiffin leads the standings with 48.5 points.

The distance medley relay team provided the top placing on the opening day. In that event, the Cavaliers finished fifth with a time of 10:21.7 behind Hillsdale, Ashland, Grand Valley, and Tiffin.

The remaining point came in the field events as Marcus Myers finished eighth in the weight throw. He set a new PR with a throw of 19.06 meters, or 62 feet, 6.5 inches, for an improved NCAA provisional mark.

The championships will continue tomorrow with events starting at 12:30 p.m. with the women's mile.
