  • Mizicko Adds 36 To Track & Field Teams
    June 01, 2017
    Fresh off leading Walsh to a 20th place finish at the national championships, Head Coach Rob Mizicko has announced the signing and transfers of 36 student-athletes for the upcoming season. Twenty of those are on the women’s team with 16 on the men’s side.
  • Myers Finishes Fourth Nationally, Becomes Two-Time All-American
    May 25, 2017
    Walsh saw all three athletes reach success in the opening day of the NCAA Division II National Championships at the IMG Academy. On the men’s side, Marcus Myers became a two-time All-American as he finished fourth in the hammer, while Sarah Berger and Andra Lehotay both advanced to Saturday’s finals in the 1,500 meter run.

    The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship qualifiers have been announced and the Walsh Cavaliers will send four to Bradenton, Florida. The women’s team will send three, while the men’s team will send one.

    The Walsh men’s track and field team closed out the GLIAC Outdoor Championships today with multiple placements in various events. The Cavaliers placed in seven different events on the final day, with both relays highlighting the day.
  • Men's Track & Field Seventh After First Full Day at GLIACs

    After the first full day of competition at the GLIAC Track & Field Outdoor Championships, Walsh is in seventh place with 10 points. Ashland leads the field with 55 points. Indoor national champion Tiffin is second with 44.

    The Walsh track & field team competed in Ashland’s Alumni Open with select athletes participating in Hillsdale’s Gina Relays.
  • Miller, Kernell Eighth at Ohio State

    The Walsh track & field teams completed its week in the Jesse Owens Track Classic hosted by Ohio State. It was the second meet of the week for the Cavaliers, who previously participated at Slippery Rock on Thursday.

    Despite threatening weather and constant delays, the Walsh track & field took part in the Slippery Rock Open with many athletes performing well.
  • Men's Track Runners-Up In Walsh Invitational

    Sixteen schools all met at Milazzo Field for the Walsh Invitational with the Cavaliers finishing well in both men’s and women’s events. On the men’s side, the Cavaliers finished second with 99 points. Mount Union won the event with 187 points.

    Ben Lehotay shined as a few members of the men’s track & field team traveled to Bucknell for the Bison Outdoor Classic today.
  • Kernell, Williams Win Events At Mount Union

    The Walsh men’s track & field team visited nearby Mount Union to participate in the Homon Open. A pair of Cavaliers took home first as Jacob Kernell and Hunter Williams won the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 200 meter dash, respectively.
  • Men's Track Finishes Second At Wooster

    The Walsh men’s track and field team finished second at the Wooster Invitational on Friday and Saturday with a team score of 121. The Cavaliers finished second only two Mount Union who scored 227.5.

  • Myers Earns All-American Honors At National Meet
    March 09, 2017
    Marcus Myers became Walsh’s first men’s NCAA Division II All-American after he finished seventh in the weight throw on the opening day of the indoor track & field national championships. Myers’ best throw came on his fourth attempt as he threw the weight 19.42 meters, or 63 feet, 8.75 inches.
  • Men's Track & Field Ninth At GLIACs

    The Walsh men’s track & field team finished tied for ninth in the GLIAC Indoor Championships hosted by Findlay this weekend. The Cavaliers finished with 11 points along with Ohio Dominican, one point shy of Northwood for eighth.

    The Walsh men’s track and field team opened the day with five points to stand in seventh place at the GLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Tiffin leads the standings with 48.5 points.
  • Men's Track Competes at Ohio States, Kent State

    The Walsh men’s track team was in action this weekend at both Kent State’s Tune Up and at Ohio State this weekend. Marcus Myers was the highlight of the weekend as he finished with a new PR of 18.98 meters. Not only was it a PR, but it improved him on the national list to No. 14.

    Walsh Track & Field had a busy day with split squads at Grand Valley State's Big Meet and Marietta's Alumni Open. The Cavaliers did well at both events with another school record and provo mark being improved, as well as placements in the top five in various events.

    The Walsh track & field team had a fantastic weekend as it sent split squads to Findlay and Geneva’s SPIRE Institue. Between the men’s and women’s squads, one new school record was set, three provo marks were reached, and three more were improved.

    The Walsh track & field team returned to action today at the Youngstown State University College Invitational at the Watson and Tressel Training Site Friday evening. The Cavaliers were matched up against numbers Division I schools, but were still able to rise above the ranks and place in various events.

    The Walsh men’s track and field team had a strong start to the season as a school record and numerous personal records were set between two meets. The Cavaliers finished first in four events between the Mount Union Toy Invite and the Youngstown State Icebreaker.
